Sequence

Example of a sequenceThe simplest form of website structure is called a sequence and works similar to a PowerPoint presentation. Links allow the user to proceed through the website page by page.

The sequence order is predefined and cannot be altered by the user. A sequence is information in an ordered format and this may be Alphabetical, chronological or functional. This structure is helpful for applications that educate allowing the user to build understanding progressively. Depending on the use of the application this navigation may be unidirectional or bidirectional. This structure is heavily used online in E-commerce as it provides a functional way for the user to be guided through the buying process.
